Since 2003, Fisher Engineering, Inc. (FEI) has been engaged in an ongoing Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to provide fire protection engineering consulting services for the General Services Administration’s Safety & Environmental Management Branch comprehensive and re-inspection surveys in Region 4. Our scope of services includes an evaluation based on local fire and building codes, the National Fire Protection Association’s standards and guides, and other industry standards. Each deficiency noted is assigned a Risk Assessment Code that is based on the Mishap Probability and Hazard Severity pertaining to the specific building, occupants, and mission continuity. FEI then develops recommendations aimed at reducing the building’s overall risk to an acceptable level, not simply at correcting all deficiencies.
FEI personnel perform these services at approximately 100 buildings per year throughout the southeastern United States. The facilities include courthouses, office buildings, detention facilities, warehouses, childcare centers, and historic structures.
