WT Administrative Facilities

WT-Administrative-FacilitiesIn 2010, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers engaged Smoak Designs to provide architectural design services on a design/build team assembled to construct three new buildings as part of the WT Administrative (“Admin”) Facilities at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The three buildings included a two-story, 33,000-square foot Company Headquarters; a two-story, 31,000-square foot Company and Battalion Headquarters; and a one-story, 15,000-square foot Soldier and Family Assistance Center. Smoak Designs asked Fisher Engineering, Inc. (FEI) to provide fire protection engineering design and consulting services as part of the design/build team.

Completed in 2011, the Company Headquarters and Company Battalion Headquarters contain offices for the company and battalion commanding officer and executive officer, for the battalion staff and case management, and for support personnel and equipment. Also included are restrooms and mechanical/electrical equipment rooms.

The Soldier and Family Assistance Center is built in a residential style and is used by family support counselors and outreach staff. It includes a child activity center, public computer access, multi-purpose meeting rooms, restrooms, and mechanical/electrical equipment rooms.

This project won the 4th Quarter SASINC Safety Award for 2011.
